Occupy the Hood - Public Hearing, October 31, 2011
CLICK video
Speakers: Chance Zombor, Khalil Coleman and Supervisor Eyon Biddle, District 10 - Milwaukee County
OCCUPY the Hood is one of the many spin-offs of Occupy Wall Street Movement. Occupy the Hood in Milwaukee speaks to the disparities and discriminations of Milwaukeeans; especially those impacted by SB 207.
SBill 207 is where the law would disproportionately harm families in critical mass. It is a racists and inhuman way of dealing with an already exacerbating unemployment problem.
SB 207 gives employers the right to legally further disenfranchise thousands in our state, disproportionately blacks and Latinos. SB 207 allows employers to fire employees and refuse to hire those who have committed felonies regardless of if the felony is related to the job or not! In fact, SB 207:
-Limits rehabilitation
-Increase poverty
-Attacks families and children
-Incarcerates Communities
-Induces crime
-Abolishes human/civil rights
-REESTABLISHES SLAVERY!!
=======================
The bill was spearheaded by Senator Roberta Darling and Representative Joel Kleefisch - both Republicans. Senator Darling just survived a "recall" and Rep. Kleefisch is married to the Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.
